AIESEC info: AIESEC Jargons or Abbreviations

AIESEC has developed special words and abbreviations. This helps in communication and now it has been a part of of our AIESEC culture. The list below is just a small percentage, however it covers most of the abbreviations we use in our AIESEC language:

An international conference for AIESECers interested in exchange

CEED
Cultural Envoy for Exchange Development
One or more AIESECers go to work in another LC for two months

Chair
Chairperson
The Person who is coordinating a conference and to ensure that everything is on time

CSR
Corporate Social Responsibility
Moral or ethical duty towards the society, such as in development of future global leaders

EB or LCEB
Executive Board or Local Committee Executive Board
Team of AIESECers who lead a LC

EP
Exchange Participant
Student who is selected to go abroad on an AIESEC internship

IC
International Congress
An international meeting for AIESEC International and Member Committees to develop strategic directions once a year

IS
Information System

IXP
International Exchange Program
One of AIESEC’s main Activity; by sending youths to work abroad for cultural experience.

Incoming Exchange
Term to describe scanning, raising and matching a company in Malaysia with a student from abroad

AIESEC Info: Local committee within AIESEC Malaysia.

All of the AIESEC local committees (LC) in Malaysia comprises of a team-based structure, which have been formalized around core-work functions, under the leadership of a Local Committee President (LCP). The members of a Local Committee organize and run programmes and projects on a local level which contributes to our organization’s core-work.

The co-ordination of the Local Committee and the link between the Local Committee and the Member Committee is done by the Executive Board (EB) of the LC, which is the team leading the LC. The structure of the EB in an LC may differ from another LC.

As years goes by AIESEC spreads her wing to 8 other public as well as private higher learning education institutions in Malaysia, namely:

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1978)

Universiti Sains Malaysia (1986)

Universiti Utara Malaysia (1988)
