Updates on Elections Process

Dear Kids ,

I have recently been getting questions about the elections especially
regarding running for both LCP and VP position and also about unsuccessful
LCP candidates. So, I'm posting this to clarify these matters.

1. Candidates may NOT apply for both LCP and VP positions

2. However , unsuccessful LCP candidates may choose to run for a VP position
during the EGM ( vote of confidence elections night) with the approval of
the Elections committee.

3. Voting members may vote for more than one LCP candidate for the vote of
confidence as long as they are confident of the candidate's abilities and commitment based on
their past performances and also performance during that night.A LCP candidate is considered passed the VoC if he/she acquires 2/3 majority of votes. If there is more than one LCP candidate
that passed the VoC , a selection board consisting of the EB 08/09 and any other members deemed suitable by the Elections committee will choose the LCP elect after a series of interviews. Other LCP candidates might be offered a chance to participate in the VP
selections interviews if requested and approved by the LCP Selections Board.

4. Voting members may vote for as many VP candidates as long as they are
confident of the VP's abilities and commitment based on their past performances and also performance during that night. All VP candidates that pass the Vote of Confidence with a 2/3 amount of votes will be put into a Selection pool and will go through a Selection Board within 3 days of the VoC consisting of the EB 08/09 , LCP elect and other members deemed suitable by the Elections Committee ( eg: MC 08/09)

5. The results of the full EB 09/10 will be announced within a week of the VoC during the Annual General Meeting ( AGM ) . EB 09/10 will be elects until officially taking their term on 1st of February 2009.

Hope this clarifies matters. For those that have already sent in their applications , thank you very much. They are great manifestos ( applications) . Hope to see more in my inbox soon ! =) Good Luck !

P/S: The applications are SUPPOSED to be HARD la mangkuk mangkuk sekalian =p

The AIESEC Way

Many organizations are working to make a positive impact in our society, as we do. Each one of them has its own approach. We also have our unique way to make that impact…

The AIESEC Way is not only a description of the way (manner) we aim to make a positive impact on society, but also describes the way (road) we are taking to achieve what we envision.

What is AIESEC?

AIESEC is a global, non-political, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. Its members are interested in world issues, leadership and management. AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, gender, sexual orientation, creed, religion, national, ethnic or social origin.

What We Envision

Peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potential.

Our Impact

Our international platform enables young people to explore and develop their leadership potential for a positive impact on society.

The Way We Do It

AIESEC provides its members with an integrated development experience comprised of leadership opportunities, international internships and participation in a global learning environment.

Since AIESEC is a global network in over 1000 universities from over 110 countries and territories, it attracts and cultivates young people with global mindsets. Students and the coperate world would then learn from each other.

Our Values
Our Values provide a way for the collective leadership of AIESEC to encourage common norms of behaviour across our global network which will support the achievement of our goals and will support us in pursuing our ideals.

Our values include:

  • Activating Leadership

  • We lead by example and inspire leadership through action and results. We take full responsibility for our role in developing the potential of people.

  • Enjoying Participation

  • We create a dynamic environment by active and enthusiastic participation of individuals. We enjoy being involved in AIESEC

  • Striving for Excellence

  • We are consistent and transparent in our decisions and actions. We fulfill our commitments and conduct ourselves in a way that is true to our identity.

  • Living Diversity

  • We seek to learn from the different ways of life and opinions represented in our multicultural environment. We respect and actively encourage the contribution of every individual.

  • Acting Sustainably

  • We act in a way that is sustainable for our organization and society. Our decisions take into account the needs of future generations
